Why did you join Movement Exchange?

I believe that dance education has the power to change both a person's life and a community. I wanted to find an outlet for that power, and MoveEx was the perfect fit!

What is your favorite thing about Movement Exchange?

My first exchange trip in the spring of 2016 was by far the best part of Move-Ex. I was thrilled to be a part of something so full of love for movement and love for humans!

What makes your Move-Ex chapter unique?

At SMU, our Move-Ex chapter is composed of both dance majors and students in other schools and divisions who are simply passionate about movement and service. This unique mix of students allows us to collaborate and share ideas from different perspectives.

Where do you teach weekly and/or monthly dance classes in your community? Who are your community partners?

We partner with the Refugee Services of Texas to teach monthly dance classes to refugee girls in the Dallas area. We also partner with the All-Stars Project of Dallas to create collaborative performances for an annual talent show that brings arts education and performance opportunities to students in struggling communities of Dallas.
